Project Description:
The location options for the eight classroom kindergarten addition were limited by the confined site and the need to be located fairly close to the parent pick-up / drop-off area. The building addition utilizes vibrant color accents in the classrooms and hallways while continuing the use of masonry and concrete block. The butterfly roof with large overhangs for sun control provide rainwater harvesting and on-site water storage in an exterior cistern. Large windows and children sized exterior doors enhance the indoor-outdoor connections.
